‘No going back’ – Plateau APC guber candidate insists on pursuing case to logical conclusion

Published by

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda has stated that there is no going back on the petition filed at the Election Petition Tribunal, insisting on pursuing the his case to its logical conclusion.

Dr. Yilwatda in a statement by his campaign council christened “Generation Next Campaign Council” signed by it’s spokesman, Shittu Bamaiyi advised the People’s Democratic Party to stay away from the APC governorship Candidate Nentawe Yilwatda until after the election petition tribunal completes it’s sittings in the state.

Reacting to a newspaper report and rumours that he would stop the party from going to the tribunal, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC said no amount of pressure would stop the APC and its governorship Candidate from challenging the outcome of the March 18th governorship election.

He stated that the Electoral Act of 2022 gives an aggrieved party the right to go to the tribunal where there is a perceived injustice or illegality during the election.

According to him, it is therefore not out of place for the APC and Nentawe to proceed to the tribunal to challenge the outcome of the election in the face of glaring electoral malfeasance perpetrated on that fateful day.

He noted that for the PDP to think that by exerting unnecessary pressure and sending emissaries would make the APC to withdraw the case from the tribunal, is just a fallacy.

Dr. Yilwatda. said no amount of sugar coated promises and enticements would make the APC and its candidate betray the trust and confidence entrusted to them by the people of the state.

He advised the PDP to concentrate on putting up its defence if at all it has any, rather than embarking on a wild goose chase which at end of the day will not yield any result

The gubernatorial candidate emphatically stated that the APC has harvested enough evidence and witnesses to present at the tribunal to prove that the governorship election was massively rigged in favour of the PDP.
