‘No cracks among Mogajis over Olubadan chieftaincy reforms’

THE coordinator of the council of Ibadan Authentic Mogajis, Chief Abduljelyl Adanla, the Chairman, Chief Moshood Gbolagade Akere and their Vice, Chief Abass Oloko on Wednesday said there were no cracks among the Mogajis in Ibadan, saying they remained irrevocably committed to the development of the city.

A statement signed by Adanla and copied to the journalists said “we the authentic Mogajis of Ibadanland are not enemy of the government and CCII.

“We strongly debunk the recent publication criticising the state government and CCII on the move to find a permanent solution to chieftaincy crisis in Ibadan.

“To this end, the President of CCII, Chief Yemi Soladoye should not ignore stakeholders in the review in order for it to achieve its aim.

“Also we will like to inform the public that there is no crack among us. At our last meeting at the palace, we reached and signed a resolution stopping our PRO, Mogaji Wale Oladoja from addressing the press without the involvement of our executive,” Adanla added.

Mogaji Akere, Mogaji Oloko, Mogaji (Owonbuwo), Mogaji Ademola Olasomi, Mogaji Adeyemo, Mogaji Alaadorin, Mogaji Alago and Mogaji Omilabu, according to the development, see all CCII members and Mogajis as brothers bonded with one destiny to uplift Ibadan

They added: “No crisis whatsoever. Olubadan is our highly revered father. What the CCII proposes or said to be in their statement should be reviewed by all Mogajis to determine the next line of action. It shouldn’t cause unnecessary friction among us.”

Mogaji Oladoja had criticised the CCII impending reforms on the obaship and chieftaincy system in the city. He queried the reasons behind a reformation of a system that is working.

But press statement by the body stressed the need to formalise some practices in the chieftaincy system of Ibadanland. It was jointly signed by the CCII President, Chief Yemi Soladoye; its legal adviser, Kunle Ishola and the publicity secretary, Ademola Alabi.
