NNPP holds NEC meeting in Abuja

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is set to hold its 8th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the Bolingo Hotel, Abuja.

In attendance are members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Assembly, the Kano State House of Assembly, state commissioners, and party faithful from across the six geopolitical zones of the country. Also present are representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who are there to monitor the event.

Speaking with Tribune Online, the National Secretary of the party, Dipo Olayioku, stated that the meeting is statutory, in line with the party’s constitution, and will also review events from the past four months concerning the NNPP.

“The NEC meeting is statutory, as our constitution mandates us to hold one meeting every quarter. That is why we are convening it, and it is the first of the year.

“The essence of the meeting is to review the past three to four months and assess how the party has fared. It provides an opportunity for us at the national headquarters to engage with our representatives from the states, the chairmen, members of the National Assembly, and other party leaders.

“It is also an avenue for us to exchange ideas, evaluate our progress over the past four months, and outline a roadmap for the next three months. Additionally, we are preparing for upcoming elections, particularly the Anambra elections and local government elections. These are some of the key issues we will be considering,” Olayioku told Tribune Online.

The leader of the party and former presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, along with Governor Abba Yusuf, was expected to arrive at the time of filing this report to officially declare the event open.
