A Chieftain of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), Hon. Damilare Abioro, has congratulated Popular Broadcast Journalist, Seyi Ipadeola, popularly known as Omo Iya Alamala, over his election as the Pioneer Chairman of Premium Radio Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council.
Ipadeola, who is currently working with Roots 97.1 FM Abeokuta, emerged as the chapel’s first Chairman, while Ayomide Adetunji ( Mr Quality) of Splash FM was elected as Vice Chairman, during an election held recently at the NUJ Secretariat,Iwe-Iroyin in Abeokuta, the State capital
Other pioneer executives are Emmanuel Oke (Secretary), Saheed Adeola (Mrpossible) as Assistant Secretary both from Fresh FM Abeokuta.
Also on the lists are Sulaiman Olamilekan of Fresh FM (Treasurer), Olaitan Afuape (Financial Secretary) and Abidemi Kajogbola of Splash FM (Auditor)
Abioro, in his congratulatory message, described Ipadeola as a thoroughbred professional who has carved a niche for himself in his chosen career.
The Agosasa-born politician explained that he has no doubt that the Chairman will use his wealth of experience and expertise to nurture the new chapel to enviable position.
He added that the newly created chapel and its elected officers must uphold and unrelentingly safeguard the watchdog role of the media in the society.
According to him, the society will continue to look up to their members for fair, balanced and objective journalism.

“I admonish him and his team, as well as members of the chapel to work together in unison as the society depends on them for well-balanced reportage” The NNPP Chieftain stated.
Abioro also urged members of the chapel to forge greater unity in the union, engage in productive dialogue to resolve any issue inimical to the progress of the association.
