The Nigeria Labour Congress has stepped into the peaceful protest embarked upon by the aggrieved workers of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
The workers are protesting over poor remuneration and working conditions.
A delegation, comprising NLC members, the aggrieved IBEDC casual workers led by Oyo NLC chairman, Comrade Kayode Martins, and security personnel held a closed door meeting with the management of Premier International Procurement Logistics Limited (PIPLL) on Tuesday.
Addressing the workers and newsmen after the meeting, Comrade Martins urged the workers to resume work.
He said PIPLL management confirmed that the matter has been tabled before IBEDC since 2023, when the workers lodged complaints.
He further promised that the delegate will meet with IBEDC management before Friday 14th February, 2025.
