The National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, has visited the Niger State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Yakubu Garba, to console him over the death of his wife, Hajiya Zainab Garba

Ajaero extended the condolences of the organised labour in a message through the National President of Nigeria Medical and Health (MHWUN), Dr Kabir Ado Minjbir, who led the national and state executives of the union to condole with the Deputy Governor in Minna.

Ajaero said the national leadership of NLC received the news of the demise of Hajiya Zainab Garba with great shocks.

He said Hajiya Zainab Garba left an indelible mark on the sands of time, adding that the labour family mourns with the deputy governor.

According to the NLC president, the strong bond that existed between you has always been fondly talked about.

“There is no word that can fill the void created by her in your life, but we want you to take solace in the fact that she has left an indelible mark on the sands of time,” he said.

He described Hajiya Zainab as a principled and humble woman who never wavered in her convictions and wifely duties, which she pursued tenaciously.

Also, Dr Kabir Ado Minjibir said the national and state executives of MHWUN received the news of the sudden demise of Hajiya Zainab with shock.

He said the deceased was a caring mother and a pillar of support to the entire family, as well as a dependable ally and exceptional support system to the MHWUN and labour families in the state and the country at large.

He prayed to Allah to give the deputy governor the fortitude to bear the painful demise of his wife as well as fill the vacuum that has been created.

Responding, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, said the loss of his wife has created a lesson for all to learn that death is inevitable and can come to anyone at any time.

He appreciated the leadership of two unions for the visit, for standing by him, and for praying for the existing relationship to wax stronger in peace, unity, and love.

In a related development, the Deputy Governor also received the people of Borgu Emirate, the Niger House of Assembly Service Commission, and members of the Niger state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on similar condolence visits.

Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of Hajiya Zainab Garba.
