NLC commends governor over infrastructure

THE Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kano State Council, has commended the Kano State government over what it described as improvement in the provision of quality infrastructure in diverse parts of the state, saying the gesture has made every part of the state feel the presence of government in terms of execution of laudable projects.

The chairman, NLC, Kano, Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir, who made the assertion last week, while addressing journalists, lauded the efforts of the state government in its pursuit of the mission to make available quality amenities, to better the lives of the people.

Minjibir, who was speaking after leading a team of trade unionists selected from all segments that form the union, on an inspection tour of projects embarked upon by Governor Ganduje, gave kudos to the state government.

He noted that the choice by NLC, Kano to inspect completed and ongoing projects is to garner first hand information and in turn, be armed with accurate information with which the government could be held accountable.

According to him, the era had gone when bodies like the NLC sit in a corner and criticise government functionaries without proceeding to have an on the spot assessment to be in a better position to engage in constructive criticism.

Minjibir disclosed that by the findings from the projects inspected by the team, Governor Ganduje deserved to be commended for a good work, considering the quality of the infrastructure being provided by the state government.

Speaking at the occasion, the Special Adviser to Governor Ganduje on Labour Matters, Comrade  Inusa Danguguwa, said the decision by the council to go aboard inspecting amenities provided by the state government to assess prudent management  resources is a welcome development.
