Nine die in Lagos-Abeokuta expressway crash

Nine persons including five male and four female adults died in an accident that occurred at about 8.00am on Tuesday along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe, the accident involved a truck with no registration number and a Mazda bus with registration number SMK808YD.

It was gathered that the accident happened at Kere Bridge as a result of excessive speed and driving against traffic.

A total of 17 persons were reported to have been involved in the crash leaving seven persons injured.

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Anthony Uga, cautioned motorists on route violation and excessive speed.

He pointed out the dangers associated with the two critical offences while advising motorists to adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
