A group, under the auspices of Atiku Solidarity Movement, on Friday alleged that the nation’s economy has collapsed under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari, contending that only the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar possess the wherewithal to revamp the economy.

Speaking in Osogbo at the inauguration of the group’s executives for Osun State, the South West coordinator of the group, Mr Charles Ajisakin, said only the People Democratic Party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar among the large number of candidates vying for the office of president, has ‘right contacts’ to revive the country’s economy.

According to him, “Nigeria economy collapsed shortly after President Buhari assumed office and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is the only candidate with the ‘right contacts’ and experience to revive it, and stabilize the country.”

“Things are becoming increasingly hard for the meagre income earners. People are finding it so difficult to even eat. This should be enough reason for us to vote for Atiku as the next president of this country next year.

“Having seen lapses in the administration of President Buhari, I think it is the responsibility of every youth to rise up to the occasion and vote for a leader who will show them the direction and give them a future,” Ajisakin remarked.

Commenting on the reaction of the federal lawmakers during the presentation of the 2019 budget by President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Assembly, he lauded the lawmakers for expressing the state of mind of many Nigerians towards Mr President over the state of affairs of the country.

Ajisakin stated, “prior to 2015 general elections, something similar happened at the National Assembly heaven did not fall The lawmakers deserve our commendation for expressing to the President state of minds of many Nigerians. People are hungry and angry.”
