Nigeria’s development”ll be stalled if we fail to embrace restructuring ― Fadahunsi

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Osun East Senatorial District, Prince Ade Fadahunsi on Friday promised to support restructuring and equitable distribution of resources if elected into the Senate.

Speaking at the PDP rally for Ijesa North Federal Constituency held at Ijebu-Jesa, he contended that no meaningful development can be achieved in Nigeria unless the issue of restructuring was addressed.

Fadahunsi expressed his readiness to sponsor a bill that would support equitable distribution of resources, by giving states autonomy to manage resources in their domain.

According to him, “I will sponsor bills in support of restructuring. I will also lobby my colleagues if elected. I see restructuring as the solution to both loud and silent agitations of our people.”

He, however, observed that it is worrisome for the people of the East Senatorial to be suffering amidst a large number of natural resources deposits and sound human capital available in the area.

While blaming high rate of poverty and underdevelopment in the area on poor representation at the National Assembly, Fadahunsi promised to correct all anomalies of the past years, if elected.

He stated, “why will people invade our land, take our natural resources and give nothing back to us. We have not had it good in terms of representation at the Red Chamber.

“We will do our best to ensure we all get what is due to us. If we are able to pull through with the issue of restructuring, Osun East Senatorial will be among the most prosperous. We have enough to take care of ourselves,” Fadahunsi said.

Earlier, the Osun State chairman of the PDP, Hon Soji Adagunodo called on the people of the Federal Constituency to consolidate the victory given to PDP in September, by coming out en masse to vote and support the PDP candidates in all the elections.
