Nigeria’s cultural exhibition in Moscow excites participants

Published by

THE National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has made history in Moscow for mounting the only cultural exhibition that depicts the evolution of the national team of any nation participating in the world soccer fiesta.

Apart from the rich display of Nigerian arts, crafts and cultural products, the NCAC’s exhibition stand tells the story of the evolution of Nigeria’s National Team from 1949.

Director-General of National Council for Arts and Culture, Chief Olusegun Runsewe, said: “The essence of the exhibition is to marry culture with football and celebrate all those who have contributed to the development of soccer in Nigeria.”

On display at the Stand were photographs of Nigerian soccer icons, coaches and spectacular goals scored across the decades.

The stand, which also served as a viewing centre in the heart of Moscow, was daily visited by fans of Super Eagles, friends of Nigeria and soccer loving citizens of different nations resident in Moscow.

In addition to watching the football on gigantic TV Screens, spectators also fed their eyes with Nigerian cultural products and took photographs of the posters of past and present Nigerian players which dotted the centre.

Runsewe, who stressed the need for those who had made impressive contributions in all sectors to be celebrated, added that it was only by so doing that people would be encouraged to put in their best in the task of nation building.
