Nigerians won’t vote nomadic politicians ― Bello

Following the recent development in the political scene of the country, the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Monday said Nigerians have no respect for nomadic politicians and would continue to trust President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would remain united and solid to ensure another round of victory come 2019.

The governor described Buhari as a “global brand for anti-corruption”, saying the country had Buhari at the time she needed him most “to steady the ship of state against the turbulence of wanton corruption in the immediate past administration”.

Bello who stated this in Lokoja, the state capital through his Director General on Media and Publicity, Kingsley Fanwo, assured supporters of the President that another victory dance is already slated for 2019.

According to the Governor, the 2019 victory of the President will be “more beautiful” as he continues to gain more support from some sections of the country who misconstrued the President as a “sectional leader”.

“In 2015, President Buhari received rave support from the North East, North West, North Central and South West. He didn’t do too well in the South East and the South South. But today, the story has changed. I can see the President winning the South East and South South In 2019 because they have now seen how detribalized the President could be.

“In the last 30 months, we have witnessed tremendous leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari. What he has achieved has reminded us what this nation would have been if there was no change in 2015. The nation would have collapsed economically.

“The trend of development and stability must continue beyond 2019 and Nigerians are ready to renew the President’s mandate to continue to dismantle the pillars of corruption and bring economic prosperity to the people of Nigeria”.

Governor Bello assured APC faithful that the party would remain “united and solid ahead of the 2019 elections”, urging leaders of the party to remain resolute in “institutionalizing lasting change on the body polity.

“We will remain with the APC. Nomadic politicians do not have the respect of the electorate. We have chosen to change Nigeria from a corrupt to an incorruptible nation; from underdevelopment to a developed nation and from a nation of ethnic mistrust to national unity. We are in the right path.

“To a large extent, President Buhari has stabilized the economy, taken us out of recession and winning the war on terror. He has delivered on his promises to the people of Nigeria. Never will people tainted with corruption be given the mandate to lead this nation again. Nigerians have become smarter”.
