Bishop of the Diocese of Ibadan-South, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Right Reverend (Dr) Jacob Ademola Ajetunmobi, has tasked Nigerians to renew efforts towards agriculture to ensure food security.

He made the call while delivering the bishop’s charge at the third session of the sixth synod of the Diocese of Ibadan-South, which has as its theme, He That Endures to the End Shall Be Saved, at Christ Church, Mapo, Ibadan, on Friday.

Reiterating the importance of agriculture towards national development, Bishop Ajetunmobi, who commended the attitude of Christians in Nigeria in the light of the economic situation, called for more efforts to make things better.

According to him, “Our attitude and reaction to hardship as Christians in Nigeria has been positive generally speaking. Sometimes, God allows us to be chastised as His children. Without test, there can be no testimony.”

Bishop (Dr) James Afolabi of Osun Anglican Diocese preached at the opening service held on Thursday, while Reverend Winners Obamina led the Bible study, just as Bishop James Akinola (retd) of Igbomina West diocese will preach at the closing service today.

Also present at the synod were representatives of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State; Bishop Abraham Akinlalu of Oke-Osun Diocese; members of the clergy of the diocese, special guests and delegates to the synod.
