Nigerians should insist on positive action from govt —CAN President

PRESIDENT of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend (Dr) Samson Ayokunle, has said the body would continue to pressure government into doing what is right in order to better the welfare of the citizenry.

He stated this while speaking with newsmen at the 2017 convention anointing service of the First Baptist Church in Ilaro, Ogun State.

While enjoining citizens to embrace peace and pray for the country at all times, she said Nigerians should continue to believe God for better tomorrow.

“Quitters never win, and winners never quit. We should continue to believe God for better tomorrow and those of us who speak for the country will continue to speak in her favour. As for our leaders, with more pressure on them, they will continue to do the right thing,” he said.

He described Ogun State as a peaceful state, with the right environment that could attract foreign investors.

Pastor in charge of the church, Reverend Evangelist Jadeosinmi Olagunade, in his address, urged Christians to be united and be more committed to the unity and progress of the country.

According to him, this year, which is the 12th edition, was spectacular, because prayers were answered and many were blessed by God.

On his own, coordinator of the event, Deacon Kosoluware Abiodun, thanked God for the success of the event and testimonies recorded during the convention.

The church secretary, Mrs Adedoyin Alabi, in her message, urged Nigerians not to stop praying for the good of the country.
