Nigerians are in bondage —Fr. Akoan

Nigerians are presently in bondage, looking for a way out of the state of insecurity, including emotional and economic bondage where they have found themselves. Reverend Father Mark Joe Akoan made this statement while delivering his homily during the Lagos Catholic Archdiocese 2022 annual Chrism Mass held at Holy Cross Cathedral, Lagos Island on Thursday, in Lagos

He added that Nigerians are presently going through a whole lot due to bad leadership. He advised members of the church to pray for Nigeria as well as their priests.

He stated further that the priests are called by God to help bring His children to Him through the sacrament and not for the priests to add more financial burden on them.

The Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, the Most Reverend Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, while delivering his Easter message at the event, advised Christians not to give up but to turn out in large numbers to vote during the forth-coming elections in 2023 so that politicians will not take advantage of their voting apathy to rig the elections.
