Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Ibadan Chamber of commerce to collaborate on business development

Nigerian Shippers’ Council (South-West Zonal office) and the Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture are set to work together to boost exportation and importation business particularly among members of the chamber.

This was the crux of discussions between the two bodies, when the newly-appointed Zonal Director, South-West of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Mr Glory Onodejo, led other officials of the council on a familiarisation visit to the office of Ibadan Chamber of Commerce in Ibadan, on Thursday.

Onodejo, noted that it became imperative for the two bodies to work together as an integral part of the economy for the betterment of the export and import business industry.

President of Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Mr Ismaila Alapa, urged the Nigerian Shippers’ Council to create an enabling environment by instituting an efficient and effective economic regulatory system in the transport sector.

“The Nigerian Shippers’ Council must also protect the right and interest of all stakeholders in line with international best practice.

“This is why your agency must liaise with the Organised Private Sector continuously to organise interactive fora and seminars which will no doubt aid the service delivery of your agency.

“Members of the import and export trade group of Ibadan Chamber of Commerce are erudite practitioners of import and export business. You can liaise with them through the chairman of the group, Mr Ezekiel Oyediji for possible partnership and collaboration where necessary,” he said.
