At a time when female artistes aren’t so involved in Nigerian rap scene/genre, the industry is witnessing the rise of a young, talented female rapper, Makayla Malaka.
Makayla, who debuted on the music scene in 2019, has officially revealed that she is now focusing on rap music and will be releasing her first all-rap studio album on June 27, later this year.
Her latest single, ‘We Can Do It’, produced by the twin duo, Emmanuel and Daniel Opara, popularly known as E-TWINZ, was released earlier today on all digital streaming platforms with amazing visuals.
From Makayla’s recent posts on social media, the 11-year-old rising star, by all indications, is a talented rapper and her new single does not disappoint. Comments from industry stakeholders who have listened to her new song opine that her delivery and lyrics are definitely above par and will likely get a nod of approval from the king of the genre himself, M.I Abaga.
When asked why she chose rap, the young artiste’s response was, “I find that I connect with rap and easily express myself through it”.
Makayla Malaka is definitely a next-rated artiste and fans should look forward to more from her.
“We must deny these groups the undue publicity they crave,” the minister said.
