The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has named Auwal Ahmed Dankode, a cleaner at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, as the “Nigerian of the Week” for his exemplary honesty.
Dankode discovered $10,000 (approximately N16 million) while cleaning an aircraft and promptly reported the find to the airline’s manager.
According to the National Orientation Agency’s X handle on Thursday, August 29, 2024, Dankode’s swift action led to a search for the rightful owner of the cash, underscoring his commitment to integrity and accountability.
It stated that his actions reflect the true Nigerian spirit of honesty and selflessness, setting a high standard for ethical conduct in the workplace.
It wrote, ”Auwal Ahmed Dankode, an employee at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, reportedly discovered $10,000 (approximately N16 million) while cleaning an aircraft.
”Zagazola Makama, a user on the X platform, shared on Wednesday that after Dankode found the cash, he immediately reported it to the airline company’s manager, initiating a search for the rightful owner.
”His prompt action has earned him widespread praise and admiration.
