The Chief of Naval Staff, CNS, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla has assured the nation of the readiness of the personnel of the Service to counter any security challenges at any given time.
Vice Admiral Ogalla gave the assurance in Abuja at the weekend while speaking at the Nigeria Navy’s 2024 Second Quarter Route March aimed at developing personnel’s physical and mental alertness to tackle the dynamic challenges of contemporary security operations.
The CNS who was represented by Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, Chief of Naval Administration, explained that the exercise ” is to instill combat readiness in personnel and prepare them to face any security challenges that may arise.

According to him, “The exercise aims to instil combat readiness in personnel and prepare them to face any security challenges that may arise.
“This exercise ensures our men are physically and mentally fit to perform their assigned tasks’.
He further added that the exercise was also designed to boost public confidence in the Navy’s strength and operational readiness.
The route march, which covered a distance of ten kilometres and involved Navy personnel and members of the National Youth Corps Service, NYSC serving with the Naval Headquarters, began at the Naval Unit in Asokoro, Abuja, and ended at the AYA junction before returning to the base.
