Shooting Stars football club won the Oyo state FA Cup and booked a place in the 2023 Nigerian Federation Cup. The Oluyole Warriors laboured to a slim victory to win the encounter. State Winners

Lobi Stars showed their superiority in Benue state. They defeated Red and Black Flames 3 – 1 to qualify for the Nigeria FA Cup. The pride of Benue will be looking to surprise the likes of Shooting Stars and Enyimba at the Federation Cup.

Bendel Insurance is amongst the traditional big teams in the NPFL. The Edo state final was an easy berth for the current Nigerian Premier Football League table toppers. They defeated their feeders team 2 nil to make it as the number one team for Edo state.

In Bayelsa, Bayelsa United advanced. From Ogun, Delta, Ondo, Kwara, Niger, Katsina, Nasarawa and Plateau came Gateway United,  Warri wolves, Sunshine stars, Kwara United, Niger Tornadoes, Basira United, and Plateau United. They all took the number one spot to represent their state.

Lagos state is yet to have a State FA Cup winner, but Ikorodu City and Smart City Feeders team will represent the state. The competition is known for showcasing local stars.

The likes of Seyi Olofinjana, Sunday Mbah, Jay Jay Okocha, who represented the National team, got noticed through this local tournaments too. Shooting Stars will face many old rivals in this year’s Nigeria Federation Cup.
