The Chairman, Nigerian Community Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, Alhaji Abiola Kumoye, has commended the efforts Nigerian musicians are putting into their craft to make it to the global stage.
Kumoye gave the commendation recently in an interview with Saturday Tribune during the Manchester Carnival in the United Kingdom.
Abiola stated that there is an excitement that comes whenever songs from Nigerian artistes are being played in foreign countries.
According to him, the elation makes one proud that his countryman is up there and consequently gets respect from the environment.
He listed Wizkid, Davido, Burnaboy, Asake, Rema and many other artistes as stars making the country proud.
The Chairman, who is also the CEO of a real estate firm in the UK, Lexicon Keys, said Nigerian artistes were now seen as ‘big deal’ and noted that such was rubbing off positively on those abroad.
This was just as he encouraged all Nigerians in different parts of the world to continue to be their brothers’ keepers and represent the country well.
