The board of Nigerian Breweries Plc has proposed the payment of a final dividend of N1.51 each to shareholders of the company for the financial year ended December 31, 2019 and would be paid only to those whose names appeared on the register of members as of the close of business on March 4, 2020.
In a disclosure, the brewery company said this register of members will be closed from March 5 to 11, 2020, with both dates inclusive, while the payment would be done on April 23, 2020, electronically only to qualified shareholders, who have also completed the e-dividend registration and mandated the registrar, First Registrars and Investor Services Limited, to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.
However, it stressed that before the dividend is paid, shareholders of the company will have to approve it at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) fixed for April 22, 2020 at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos by 10am.
It also said shareholders with dividend warrants and share certificates that have remained unclaimed, or are yet to be presented for payment or returned for validation are advised to complete the e-dividend registration or contact the registrar.
