The voting process for the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Abeokuta, Ogun Central Senatorial District, took off on a good note.
As early as 8.00am, eligible voters were seen at some polling units visited by the Nigerian Tribune within Abeokuta, the State capital.
When the Nigerian Tribune visited Ward 15, Unit 10, Maternity Centre, Abeokuta South Local Government, voters were seen checking out for their names on the voters register while the officials in charge of the election were sorting out materials for easy process.
At 8.25am, the election had started at Ward 12, Zenith Bank 1, Isale-Igbein. The turnout was quite impressive and everything were in order.
It was the same scenario at Ward 1,Unit 1, St. Peter’s Primary School, Ake, Abeokuta, eligible voters were seen on the queue in an orderly manner to perform their civic responsibilities.

At Unit 4, Oba Ademola Hospital, Abeokuta South, electoral officer in charge of the unit was seen educating prospective voters on what is expected of them during the exercise.
However, the story was not the same at Ward 11 Unit 2, Olusomi compound, Totoro, the Polling unit of the nation’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, as voters were waiting for electoral officers and materials for the election as at 9.30am.
The voters were anxiously waiting for the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, expressing displeasure over this development.
