#NigeriaDecides2019 | Tambuwal calls for calm over election results

Sokoto State Governor, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has appealed to the people of the State to remains calm over the outcome of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State.

He disclosed that the elections in the State was marred with irregularities as well as multiple of violence by the opposition in the State.

According to the Governor, ” The opposition engaged in post election mayhem, with attacks and arson on law abiding citizens. Many properties and houses were razed in Wamakko and Kware towns and part of Sokoto metropolis, in a show of terror against perceived opponents and non-partisan members of the public.

” At many polling units identify as our strong bhold, logistics and technical problem delayed balloting to very late hours and we were well aware of efforts to engage electoral officials and security agents by the opposition, with a view to compromise their integrity.

” Manifestation of these machinations include the late hour transfer of security officials and replacement of electoral officers.

Governor however appeal to the people of the State to be patient and law abiding. He urged the people to be ready for a more critical elections in the live of the State.

” As the Governoship and State Assembly elections approaches, I called on the people of the Sokoto State to rededicate ourselves.

” We should be prepared to come out and elect our leaders at this most critical tier of governmennt that has direct bearing on the lives of our teaming masses” he advised.

He further expressed his gratitude to the people of the State for their support and positive attitude, while enjoying them to maintain same positive posture throughout the period of the elections.
