The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday rejected the official results presented by Collation Officer for the Presidential election in Kogi State, Professor Michael Adikwu.

The Vice chancellor of the Vice chancellor of the University of Abuja has declared that the All Progressives Congress won the election, polling 285, 894 as against its main rival, the Peoples Democratic Party which scored 218,207.

The Collation Officer gave 1, 640, 449 as total number of registered voters while a total of 507, 773 voters were accredited.
Total valid votes were 521, 016 as against rejected votes of 32, 480. Professor Adikwu said a total votes of 553, 496 was cast.

Former Aviation Minister and PDP party agent, Osita Chidoka expressed disappointment that results of Dekina local government was added by the Collation Officer as he noted that no election took place there as a result of sporadic violence.

An agitated Chidoka said there was an agreement with the State Collation Officer for Presidential Elections, (SCOPE) that no results would be reflected for Dekina since the process was disrupted by sporadic violence.

“There was no elections in many polling units because of violence. There was an agreement that no results of Dekina be entered. There are specific polling units and wards and we raised concerns. I am surprised that the Collation Officer went against what was agreed.”

“The PDP is still taking figures of polling units where the Smart Card Readers weren’t used,” Chidoka said.

The collation officer for Gombe State, Professor Kyari Mohammed, Modibbo, who is the Vice chancellor of Adama University presented the results of the Presidential election from the state.
