The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, casting his vote
The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi has said that he and some stalwarts of the party are being harassed by security officials.
He made the statement in his country home after casting his vote at his Amatutu ward 1 polling unit in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Obi who came to vote in the company of his wife at 9:03 am said it was rather too early to say which way the vote would sway.
Similarly, the Anambra State Governor has called on people with voters card to come out en-masse to exercise their civic responsibility or be disenfranchised.
He said, “I encourage Ndi Anambra to come out and perform their civic responsibility in order to help Nigeria move forward.”
Obiano’s ward, Aguleri ward 1 was however without the usual crowd that comes out during voting exercise.
But the Governor who came out to vote at 10:15 am in the company of his wife said the low voters turn out was not anything to worry about saying that the voters whose polling booth was there were living close by and would come out to vote before the close of the voting exercise.
As at 10:30 am, election materials were yet to arrive at Iyiowa Odekpe in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Meanwhile, the House of Representative candidate for Awka North/South Federal Constituency for Saturday polls, Chief Emmanuel Nweke, has express satisfaction over the large turn out of voters in his ward, Umu-Bele Polling unit 003 Awka, the Anambra State Capital.
Chief Nweke said compare to 2015 presidential election in the state where there was a report of low turn out, it shows Nigerians are determined to sustained democratic administration.
He applauded INEC, for making the exercise a huge success despite the pressures from all quarters of critics.
