#NigeriaDecides2019 | Bauchi gov with wives cast votes, commends electoral process

Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar and his two wives were among hundreds of Bauchi voters who voted at their polling unit in Jahun Ward, Garun Galadima polling unit in the Bauchi metropolis in the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.

The trio arrived at the polling unit at exactly 11.25am followed by party supporters and they were immediately accredited without hitches with the governor’s first wife, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar, the first to cast her ballot, followed the second wife, Barrister Aisha Abubakar, after which their husband, the governor voted.

The governor walked straight into the polling unit and collected his ballot papers, after which he ticked the candidates of his choice and cast his vote at exactly 11.30am.

Shortly after casting his vote, Governor Abubakar, while fielding questions from newsmen, commended the electoral process in the state, saying that Nigerians have answered the call for coming out to vote and elect the leaders of their choice.

Abubakar said, “The electoral process is fast enough to take care of every voter who has come out to vote. I have not experienced any hassles, neither has any of my wives encountered any challenge with the identification process, so we have voted smoothly.”

The governor added that “At the end of the process, I am praying for a smooth process without any rancour and I am praying that my president and candidates who contested the national assembly election in the APC will be elected.”
