#NigeriaDecides2019 | Atiku is starting 50 metres behind us, Keyamo boasts

Published by

Director of Buhari Media Campaign Organization, Festus Keyamo SAN, has stated President Muhammadu Buhari will carry the day in today’s presidential election because his major opponent,  Atiku Abubakar “is starting 50 metres behind us” in a 100 metre dash.

This is just as the fiery lawyer blamed the opposition for the rumoured bomb blast that allegedly rocked parts of Maiduguri, the Bornu State capital early Saturday.

Keyamo argued that the alleged bomb blast, which was feasted upon by the opposition to discourage the electorate from voting, was a show of force by the Nigerian Army to scare off enemies of the state.

He stated that although it was still early to speak on the polls, President  Buhari will record victory over his major contender, Atiku Abubakar.

“Well we have always been confident, have you ever seen any sign of lack of confidence? Demographically, we have taken the country as a whole and the voting patterns, the balance of forces in the country.

“It’s like starting a race. Atiku is starting 50 metres behind us. We are starting a 100 metres and Atiku is 50 metres behind us that is it,” Keyamo enthused.

On the relative peaceful voting exercise in volatile Uvwie LGA, which has been a flashpoint of concerns to security agents, Keyamo said Nigerians have mature in electioneering matters.

“It’s to show you that we have matured in Uvwie. Many of us worked round the clock to ensure that we have very peaceful conduct of election in my local government.

“There were delays of cause especially in my unit, unit 20 ward 1.

“There were few delays but at the end of the day, voting has taken off smoothly. We cannot give a final verdict of the performance now until about mid-afternoon, if we speak now, it might be too early to give a verdict because you know being veterans in politics, it is not how you start the process, but how you end the process.

“So that is what we are waiting to see,” he noted.
