Nigeria@64: Be resilient in face of economic challenges, Wike urges FCT residents

Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has called on residents of the Territory to remain resilient in the face of current economic, social, and security challenges.

The Minister assured of FCT administration’s commitment to develop infrastructure, enhance security, provide quality services, and improve the overall quality of life for everyone in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

According to Wike, despite the fact that this year’s Independence Day celebration is coming at a time when the nation is facing economic, security, and social challenges, FCT residents must be resilient to lead the charge in nation-building.

He said: “I urge every resident to reflect on the spirit of our national day and take personal and collective responsibility for the development of our communities,” Wike said in his Independence Day message to FCT residents.

“Let us stand together to, support security efforts, promote peace, protect our environment, and be our brother’s keeper.

“We must commit to fostering national unity and progress. The FCT is at the forefront of these efforts, and we will continue to ensure that Abuja remains a symbol of hope, a center for opportunities, and a place of peace for all Nigerians.

“We must also not forget to reflect on the sacrifices of our gallant men and women in uniform who continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of residents.

“On this note, I wish to assure all residents of the FCT that the Federal Capital Territory Administration remains committed to the infrastructural development of the Territory, enhancing security, providing quality services, and improving the overall quality of life for everyone in the nation’s capital.

“We remain committed to creating an inclusive society where opportunities abound for all, and no one is left behind”.
