Nigeria Travel Week to honour young tourism personality, others on Nov 23

Preparations for the second edition of the Nigeria Travel Week (NTW) has reached an advanced stage for the tourism event that opens on November 23 at the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino, Lagos, spanning November 24.

This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of NTW, Efe Ahwana, who said that the major event for the first day of the two days gathering is the tourism roundtable, which will feature a number of panellists.

The list includes Prince Yemisi Shyllon of OYASAF, Desmond  Majekodumi of LUFASI Park, Jon Howell of Aviadev Africa, Tana Forsuelo of Wavecrest College of Hospitality, Robin Campbell of Nigeria Field Society and Bernard Bankole of Finchglow Travels.

The climax of the day, according to him, is the Balearica Awards, also known as the Nigeria Tourism Awards, which will hold by 5:00 pm. For this year, Awhana said that it is only the non – voting category that will be awarded while the voting categories will be put on hold due to the inability to conclude work on them.

Areas to be awarded on the day are Young Tourism Personality of the year, Royal Support for tourism, Best Tourism Governor of the year, Lifetime Achievement, Tourism Personality of the year and the Best Travel Blog.

The second day will feature a tour to Tarkwa Bay where a number of activities have been lined up, including a novelty beach football match between travel professionals and travel influencers
