THE Marketing and Sales Manager, Tramontina Nigeria, Funbi Sowande, has explained why the Brazilian company is in Nigeria.

Sowande, who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, during the company’s activation exercise to promote its products to farmers and its targeted consumers in the South West, said Tramontina is “in Nigeria to improve people’s lives.”

According to her, the company, which has been operating in more 40 countries in Africa for more than a decade, is currently focusing on Nigeria, Africa’s largest populous country, to “introduce and cement our presence in the Nigerian market.”

It will be recalled that Tramontina, a manufacturing company in Brazil manufacturing, officially announced its presence to the Nigerian market last week.

According to her, the company, which could possibly start a production line in Nigeria, is currently working with a number of distributors to cement its relationship with the Nigeria market.

The outcome of this relationship could possibly account for the establishment of the production line in Africa, the Nigerian Tribune learnt.

At the activation event which occured in Ogunpa market, company’s major distributor for the south west, Yekeen Ojo, told the Nigerian Tribune that he is confident that the south west market would be “very receptive to Tramontina.”

According to him, currently, he services more than 20 agents in Ibadan alone, not accounting for other parts of the region.

Sowande, who corroborated him, said the company is currently working with a number of distributors and agents in all major markets in Nigeria, adding that with the reception from the distributors and agent, she is confident that the company’s goals and mission would be achieved.

Currently, the company operates in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Sierra Leone, Sudan and other 32 African countries and produces home, kitchen and agricultural tools and wares.
