Nigeria to collaborate with Turkey on border security

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has expressed Nigeria’s readiness to collaborate with Turkey in the area of border security.

Tunji-Ojo spoke when he received the Vice President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, Turkey, Dr. Ömer Çağlar Yilnaz, on a courtesy visit in Abuja, according to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Ozoya Imohimi.

He said that the Nigeria-Turkey relationship would be mutually beneficial for both countries, involving an exchange of ideas, technology, and data transfer, which the Minister emphasized as key.

“It is a productive relationship. We will take it very seriously, and hope we can set today as a foundation for greater things to come in the future,” the Minister said.

Earlier in his remarks, the Vice President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and leader of the delegation, Dr. Ömer Çağlar Yilnaz, thanked the Minister for granting them an audience and expressed their readiness to strengthen the current state of bilateral relations between Turkey and Nigeria in the fields of security, defense, and aerospace.
