The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (TAC) has called for enhanced collaboration with the media to effectively promote the country’s foreign policy objectives.
The initiative aims to strengthen public awareness and understanding of Nigeria’s international relations and diplomatic efforts.
As the TAC continues to engage in humanitarian and developmental assistance across the globe, it seeks to leverage media partnerships to amplify its impact and foster a deeper connection between Nigeria’s foreign policy and its citizens.
This partnership is seen as crucial for ensuring that the nation’s global initiatives are not only well-reported but also resonate with a broader audience.
At a recent meeting with the Diplomatic Correspondents Association (DICAN), led by Chairman Idehai Frederick, Yusuf Buba Yakub, the Director General of TAC, expressed the Corps’ readiness to collaborate with the association for the benefit of the country.
He highlighted TAC’s mandate to enhance Nigeria’s image internationally, particularly through the export of technical expertise to 35 African, Caribbean, and Pacific countries, while also training cabinet ministers in these nations and impacting millions of lives.
Idehai Frederick, in his remarks, acknowledged the strategic role of DICAN in the nation’s growth and development and underscored the association’s commitment to supporting TAC’s programs in line with the 4Ds doctrine.
He emphasised that DICAN is a legal and credible entity, incorporated by the Federal Government through the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), tasked with covering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its associated agencies, as well as the diplomatic community.
The 4Ds foreign policy doctrine of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which is focused on Democracy, Development, Demography, and Diaspora, birthed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the leadership of the Minister, Yusuf Tuggar has the core vision to effectively position the Ministry as Nigeria’s key link to the international community.
