The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 102 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166,918.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
“102 new cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria Ondo-68, Bayelsa-17, Kaduna-5, Lagos-3, Rivers-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Gombe-2, Ebonyi-1, Oyo-1.
“166,918 confirmed, 163,259 discharged, 2,117 deaths.
Today’s report includes:Bayelsa cases are backlog data recorded between 9th-25th February 2021, 8 states with 0 cases reported: FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Imo, Ekiti, Osun, and Ogun”

CLAIM: A website claims that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) is offering Nigerian students N20,000 grant. This is being sent to unsuspecting students as a bulk SMS with the name Tetfund2021.

FULL STORY: Some Nigerian students on May 27, 2021, got an SMS on their mobile phones from TETFund2021, informing them of their eligibility for the ongoing TETFund 20,000 grant.
The SMS reads: “Congratulations, You’re eligible to benefit from the ongoing TETFUND N20,000 Grant. You can accept the grant by clicking http://bit.ly/TETFUND-GRANTS today.”
