‘Nigeria is a pool of opportunities waiting to be tapped by business-inclined individuals’

Published by

The Co-founder and Head of Strategy and Growth, Dukiya Investments, Mr Bayo Lawal has said that Nigeria is a pool of opportunities waiting to be tapped by business-inclined individuals who are passionate about establishing a long-lasting business conglomerate in the country.

Lawal made this statement while receiving an “Award of Excellence” at a Dinner and Award Night organised by the Kwara State University Alumni Association which held at Banquet Hall, Ilorin on Friday, adding, “I am here to tell you today not to give up your dream, although, many of you are disturbed and want to do better the stringent policies in the society are given you reasons not to. That tough time will pass, and the greener days will definitely come.”

He continued, “It might take one year or more but keep doing what you are because Nigeria of today is a pool of opportunities waiting to be tapped by any business-oriented individual passionate about establishing a business empire that will last beyond them.

“The course you study should not determine your level of success in life; it should just be a pedestal to attain excellence. Great people are not born, they are simply made. I, therefore, encourage you to take the bull by the horn.”

While fielding questions on how the government can tap into its greatest resources, the youths, Lawal responded, “The government needs to create an enabling environment for youths to thrive. Many youths are willing to do business but because of the stringent policies of the government and Herculean tasks involved in registering one, they back out, squashing that dream completely.”

He thanked the organisers of the event including the president of the association for counting him worthy of the honour, and fellow awardees, adding that other alumni should consider giving back to the school that made them who they are today.
