NIGERIANS must jettison corruption and other social vices if the country is to attain capacity for development.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at stated this in Ibadan, Oyo State, through its Naib Amir for the South-West, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Alatoye, at the Aminul-l-Qur’an organised for over 74 graduands and mualllimas, comprising the old and the young.
At the event, which formed part of activities lined up to commemorate 100 years of the existence of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Nigeria, Alhaji Alatoye described The Qur’an as having the answers to all problems afflicting humanity and advocated a return to the religious text.
Alatoye, who was chairman at the event which was organised by the Ibadan Circuit of the organisation, said the country needed to think about the laws and provisions of the Holy Qur’an for mankind carefully.
“Corruption and other social vices must be strictly jettisoned for this country to progress. Moreover, The Qur’an emphasises justice and equality for the entire human race.
“Allah says in the Holy Qur’an 16 verse 91: ‘Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; and forbids indecency and manifest evil and transgression. He admonishes you that you may take heed’”, he stated.
According to him, these divine injunctions should be obeyed for the betterment of Nigerians and, indeed, the country.
