Newly appointed Regional Coordinator for North Central Youth Coalition Against Cancer, the youth arm of the Nigerian Cancer Society, Dr Fanisi Babatunde, has stated that he would work hard with other coordinators and stakeholders to achieve a healthier future for all by ensuring efforts against cancer succeed.
The statement came on the heels of his appointment on Thursday by the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS).
According to the NCS, Fanisi’s appointment forms part of deliberate efforts to strengthen its cancer awareness and advocacy initiatives across the country.
Dr Babatunde, in his new role, is expected to collaborate with stakeholders, including other regional leaders of the society, to empower youths and spearhead impactful cancer awareness campaigns, driving the mission to reduce the burden of cancer in Nigeria and beyond.
With a focus on creating sustainable advocacy strategies, the YOCAC initiative aims to inspire young people to take active roles in the fight against cancer.
The new regional coordinator holds a doctorate in Human Resource Management from Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, and is a seasoned researcher and educator at the fast-growing Kogi State University, Kabba.
He is a trainer with extensive mentorship in development and entrepreneurial initiatives.
