Nigeria at 59, need for sober reflections

Published by

We need to congratulate ourselves and our beloved country for clocking 59. However, we need to reflect on some appellations that were given to Nigeria because they speak volumes about our nation’s realities. Such appellations include Niger Area, giant of Africa, which are mere geographical expressions. Others are prime destination of Africa, a land of law and disorder, etc

Though, some of these appellations are derogatory, yet they speak volume about our national realities. At 59, our nation is still behaving like a baby as both leaders and followers are worthy of blames as the cause of some of the problems our nation is facing.

Frankly, the problem is not that we are Nigerians, the problem is ourselves; we need to start doing things right as we proceed in our life span.
