Nigeria @58: Nigeria needs a hero

Fela Durotoye

As Nigeria celebrates 58 years of its independence, one question still remains, “are we truly independent”?

Are we independent from vested interests who profit from our collective darkness so they can sell us alternative power?

Are we independent from politicians who place their lackeys in office & determine who runs the ship of state and create mutiny when the figure head captain tries to swim against the current?

Are we truly independent when our “Independent National Electoral Commission” is instructed by “the powers that be” and cannot be an impartial umpire in state elections?

Who will save our nation from imploding into the abyss of a failed state?

Nigeria needs a hero

And on Saturday, the 29th of September 2018, we may have found one in Adetokunbo Olufela Durotoye who emerged as the Presidential candidate of ANN (Alliance for New Nigeria); a party of technocrats, passionate and committed to a 180 degree turn from the current narrative in Nigeria.

Fela Durotoye, well known as Mr Nigeria for his relentless passion and pursuit of a New Nigeria for over a decade has been entrusted with his parties mandate as he was elected Presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) to deliver the New Nigeria mandate come 2019.

Fela Durotoye, while new to the political scene has been well equipped as a Management Consultant, Leadership Expert & Nation Builder, over the years is determined to bring the New Nigeria into reality; the most desirable nation to live, work and do business in, a nation that we will all be proud to identify with.

Fela’s candidacy is a breath of fresh air which has galvanized many to support his campaign as they see him as the credible alternative to President Buhari in 2019.

Youth vs. Age.

Expertise vs. Experience

Hope vs. Change

The New Nigeria vs. The Old Nigeria

David vs. Goliath.

It’s the stuff the best epic Hollywood movies are made of.

Fela Durotoye seems like the underdog in an unfair fight, out muscled financially, the Candidate of a relatively new and unknown party and not beholden to any political Godfather.

But the confidence with which he has stepped into the battlefield to rescue our nation from the vice like grip of the political Goliaths to deliver a truly independent nation makes me confident that he is the hero Nigeria has been waiting for.
