Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed sadness over the petrol tanker explosion that occurred in Agaie Local Government Area, resulting in the loss of lives and property.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor conveyed his deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident and the significant losses incurred.
While commiserating with those affected, Governor Umaru Bago said that the State Government, through the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) and other relevant organizations, had been mobilized to the scene of the accident for rescue operations and other necessary actions.

He called for calm among the residents of the affected area and urged road users to be cautious and adhere to traffic regulations to safeguard lives and property.
The governor also prayed that Allah would grant repose to the souls of the departed and a quick recovery to the injured.
It was gathered that the petrol tanker explosion, which occurred about 2 km from Dendo Community in Agaie, the headquarters of Agaie Local Government Area, claimed lives, burned cattle, and destroyed vehicles.
