Niger State Police Command has rescued a 36-year-old kidnap victim, Cornelius Damulak, who was abducted from his residence in Bwari Area Council, Abuja.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu A. Abiodun, a police patrol team attached to Chanchaga Division rescued Damulak while on patrol along Pago-Paiko highway.
The victim, a student of Veritas University, Abuja, was allegedly taken away by his abductors from one forest to another.
He managed to escape from his captors on February 13 and found himself along Pago-Paiko highway, where he was rescued by the police.
Damulak was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, while efforts are being made to locate his relatives.
The police are investigating the incident to apprehend the kidnappers.
