Niger NUT appoints Jaafar Ahmed as Chairman, Teachers Social Security Scheme

The Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Niger State wing, has approved the appointment of Malam Jaafar Ahmed as the new Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Teachers Social Security Scheme, Endwell.

A press statement issued and signed by the Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Union, Comrade Musa Kuta Umaru, in Minna, Niger State capital, indicates that the appointment is for an initial term of three years, effective from January this year.

The Union, while congratulating Jaafar Ahmed on the appointment, charged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in moving the Teachers Endwell scheme to greater success.

The Union urged the appointee to see the appointment as recognition of his capacity and competence to consolidate the gains of the scheme and strengthen the trust between the union and its members.

It then assured the new BoT Chairman, Malam Jaafar Ahmed, of the support of the state wing’s executive in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Malam Jaafar Ahmed, while accepting the new appointment, promised to uphold the confidence reposed in him and discharge the responsibilities of the office with sincerity and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Teachers Endwell scheme.
