Niger govt reiterates commitment to support Nigerian Air Force

The Niger State Government has reiterated its strong commitment to supporting the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in its constitutional mandate to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State gave the assurance at the 2024 Base Socio-Cultural Activities (BASA) event held at the 013 Quick Response Force in Minna, the state capital.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Bello Abdullahi (rtd), recognized the efforts of the Nigerian Air Force in Minna.

He commended their tireless work in combating insecurity and insurgency, emphasizing that the officers’ bravery, selfless service, and professionalism inspire the public.

Governor Umaru Bago also described the personnel of the Nigerian Air Force as dominant forces in the battle space across various domains and praised their unwavering commitment to their duties.

He reassured attendees that the Niger State Government would continue to support and collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force by providing the necessary resources and infrastructure to enhance their effectiveness.

The Governor encouraged the personnel to strive for excellence in all aspects of their operations, maintaining high standards to address emerging challenges effectively.

Earlier, the Commander of the 013 Quick Response Force, Group Captain Austine Idoko, reflected on their operational activities for 2024, highlighting that their efforts have yielded significant successes in alignment with the objectives of their headquarters.

He assured that the 013 Quick Response Force remains dedicated to consolidating the gains achieved and maintaining a swift response to security challenges within the state as part of Operation “FANSAN YAMMA” and other joint security initiatives.

The Base Socio-Cultural Activities (BASA) is an annual celebration marking the conclusion of a successful operational year for the 013 Quick Response Force.

It showcases the rich cultural heritage of Nigerian Air Force personnel while promoting unity among personnel, their families, and the host communities to strengthen relationships.
