Niger govt orders 48-hour clearance of Lambata-Maje-Dikko road gridlock

The Niger State Government has given 48-hour for the clearance of ambata-Maje-Dikko road.

The state government issued an order to a committee that includes the Commissioners for Homeland Security, Transport, and Works, along with representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Department of State Security (DSS), the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

This road has been causing significant gridlock for commuters.

Following the establishment of this joint task force committee, the State Government has mandated it to remove all broken-down articulated vehicles from the road, along with those parked illegally along the roadside.

Other responsibilities include providing alternative routes for smaller vehicles and facilitating Salini Construction Company in repairing all damaged sections of the road immediately.

The maiden meeting of the Task Force chaired by the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Gen. Mohammed Bello deliberated on how best to carry out the assignment and consequently swung into action.

The Lambata-Maje-Dikko road has for a while been faced by long hours gridlock resulting from indiscriminate parking of articulated vehicles by the roadside among other traffic violations.
