Niger State Government has launched the Emblem Appeal Fund for the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a donation of N50 million.
The launch, which took place at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Minna, was performed by Governor Mohammed Umaria Bago.
Governor Bago acknowledged the sacrifices made by Nigerian fallen heroes in maintaining peace in the country and assured that his administration would continue to support the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigerian Legion in the state.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Niger State Chapter, Veteran Mahmud Ahmed Baba, expressed his appreciation for the governor’s support, revealing that the N20 million donated by the state government in 2024 had enabled the Legion to acquire a permanent office.
The event culminated in the decoration of the governor, deputy governor, and other top government officials with the emblem.
Veteran Ahmed Baba also appealed to individuals and corporate organisations to donate generously to the veterans, giving them a sense of belonging.
