Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has sympathised with his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Zulum, and the entire people of Borno over the recent flood disaster that ravaged the state, leaving many residents homeless.
The Governor, in a solidarity message conveyed through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described the flood disaster as unfortunate and pathetic.
He acknowledged that it is indeed a trying moment for the government and people of Borno State.
While encouraging Governor Zulum and all those affected by the disaster to remain steadfast in Allah regardless of the circumstances, Governor Bago stated that the government and people of Niger State share in their pain and losses.
He urged the relevant federal authorities to expedite action in providing humanitarian services to the victims. Recently, the overflow of the Alo Dam in Maiduguri led to a flood that submerged many homes and infrastructures, killing many and rendering thousands homeless.
