Niger State governor, Umaru Bago, and the founder and President of Julicare Foundation, Prince Julius Adewale Ojo, have been honoured with the Torchbearer’s Award for charity work.
Governor Bago and Prince Ojo were among the seven notable persons who received the award at a ceremony on Sunday, October by a media outlet, the Voice of Africa in Toronto, Canada.
Prince Ojo advocated for support on behalf of the less-privileged people around the world and sought for help from every individual to make a big change in the lives of the poor.
He said: “I have been doing so with my little resources since 2001 and I thank God for it,” while he also announced that he was planning to set up his foundation work in Costa Rica.
Prince Ojo also thanked his volunteers around the world, saying “the volunteers all over the world, without them, I don’t think I can do these.”
Prince Ojo’s 60th birthday celebration will be coming up on November 16. During the 60th birthday celebration during which he will also make the public presentation of his book, Hearing the Silent Wailings, in which he explains the style of his humanitarian service and how he began.
Through Julicare Foundation, a registered charity in Quebec, Canada, Prince Ojo has committed himself and his resources for 23 years to supporting the less-privileged, especially the homeless and the needy in Canada and other countries like Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, Ghana and Nigeria.
