Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has celebrated former Military Administrators in Niger State, Colonels Lawan Gwadabe and Habibu Shu’aibu, as they clock 75 and 70 years, respectively.

Col. Gwadabe served the state from 1987 to 1992, while Col. Habibu Shu’aibu piloted the affairs of the state between 1998 and 1999.

In a heartfelt birthday message conveyed through the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor extended warm birthday wishes to the former leaders, recognising their significant contributions to the growth and development of Niger State during their respective regimes.

He celebrated not only their birthdays but also “the enduring legacies of the leadership and services to humanity they provided to Niger State.”

Governor Umaru Bago specifically recounted the invaluable contributions of Col. Gwadabe to “peaceful boundary adjustments, rural development, and nomadic education, which stimulated stability, growth, and development of the state.”

He equally recalled how Col. Shu’aibu ensured “a peaceful and smooth transition of power from the military regime to democracy in 1999 in Niger State.”

The governor maintained that “the efforts of the celebrants have positively and tremendously impacted the state and its citizenry.”

He further observed the importance of unity and collaboration among all leaders, emphasising that “leaders should always honour the contributions of their predecessors and equally look forward to working together for the growth and development of the state.”

While congratulating the celebrants and appreciating God for making them attain such remarkable ages, the governor prayed for “more blessed years, wisdom, and sound health.”
