The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, presented cheques amounting to N44,551,531 to members of the 69 families of Police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty recently.

The presentation took place at the Police Officers’ Mess, Minna.

During his remarks, the CP welcomed the families to the venue and noted that he was representing the IGP to present the cheques to the beloved families, under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Insurance schemes.

He said that the gesture was in concern of the welfare of the men, to assist and ameliorate hardship the families might be facing.

He asserted that, indeed, the cheques might not be enough to cater for the families, but he believed it was a token that would grow to sustain the family.

He prayed that may the Lord strengthen the families and fill the void that the circumstances might have caused.

He said; “Man is not worthy enough to condole you effectively, stressing that may the Lord continue to condole and strengthen you, and you shall not witness this loss again”.

The CP,  conveyed the IGP’s heartfelt condolences to the families.
