Niger community urged to embrace community policing

Minna Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Isa Adejoh, pcs, has advised the Limawa Community in Chanchaga local government area of the state to embrace community policing in the area.

He made the call while addressing a periodic meeting with executive committee members and some elders led by the chairman of Limawa Ward Development Association, Comrade Abdullahi Danlami Iliyasu in his office, on  Saturday, in Minna the state capital.

ACP Adejoh’s call became imperative in view of the fact that Community Policing would guarantee efficient and effective security of lives and properties of the people of the area.

ACP Isah Adejoh also appealed to the people of Limawa Ward A, to always provide the police with timely and useful information on the hideouts of criminals in the area for immediate action.

He however appealed to the parents and guardians in the area to monitor the movement of their children and wards before and after school hours to avoid joining bad peers.

The ACP Area Commander Metro in Minna used the forum to call on the general public to support and cooperate with the Police so as to rid all the wards in Minna metropolis of criminals and other anti-social activities.

ACP Isah Adejo thereby restated the commitment of the Police Operatives in the  State Police Command to fight all forms of negative tendencies in Minna and its environs.

Responding, Chairman of Fadar Makwallan Limawa Ward Development Association, Comrade Abdullahi Danlami Iliyasu said the meeting was apt considering the rampant cases of theft, phone snatching, including theft of the people’s properties as well as causing unnecessary unrest in the area.

Comrade Abdullahi A. Iliyasu reassured the Police Boss of the readiness of the people of Limawa Ward for continued support and cooperation to the Police for the much-needed goal to be achieved.

Limawa Ward Development Association’s Chairman thanked the Area Commander Metro in Minna, ACP Isah Adejoh for organising such an important meeting and expressed optimism that it would be sustained in order to ensure a crime-free society for the benefit of the people in the local government area.
